Thanks to SARIF (The UT Office of Research), the College of Arts & Sciences, and departmental funding Dr. Steven Wilhelm (Microbiology Department) has acquired the very first ThermoFisher Lynx 4000 high speed centrifuge in North America.

"The Innovative Sorvall Lynx 4000/6000 centrifuge floor model platform centrifuge has capabilities that reflect the paramount theme of developing a centrifuge that would be the safest Super Speed Floor Model centrifuge on the market today."- Richard Sicard/ ThermoFisher Centrifuge Specialist

"I am very proud to represent the University as its Contract Supplier for Laboratory Equipment. This acquisition demonstrates the University's commitment to achieving its journey to become a Top 25 public research university. One of the goals towards this challenge is to strengthen capacity, productivity, and safety in research. UT has taken a major leap forward towards this by being the first customer in North America to acquire this centrifuge technology." - Chuck Edrington/Fisher Scientific
